The Cibolo Trail is the quiet magic of a Boerne stay. It follows Cibolo Creek from downtown through shaded stretches of Hill Country woodland, past picnic spots, footbridges, and the Cibolo Center for Conservation. The trailhead is right at The Kendall’s front door on Blanco Road.

What to expect on a walk

The trail is mostly flat, well-maintained, and shaded by native oaks and cypress most of the way. You will hear the creek before you see it. Cardinals, painted buntings in season, and the occasional deer make regular appearances. Bring water; benches along the trail invite you to sit and stay for a while.

How far and how long

From our front door to the Cibolo Center for Conservation is a comfortable half-hour walk each way. Continue past the Center for a longer loop, or turn back and add a coffee stop in town on the way home. Wear real shoes and expect to slow down more than you planned.

Best times to go

Mornings are our favorite. The light through the oaks is worth the early alarm, and you will often have the trail mostly to yourself. In summer, get out before nine. In fall and spring, any time of day works. In winter, mid-morning after the frost lifts.

Come stay

The Cibolo Trail is a small thing that becomes a big memory, the kind of unhurried moment guests bring up over dinner the next night. Book a room at The Kendall and take the walk that so many of our guests remember first.
