Boerne’s German heritage shows up in its festivals, and the town’s calendar keeps a steady rhythm of small-town joy from spring through winter. Here is what to plan around if you want to time a trip to a favorite event.

Spring

Wildflowers hit their peak in April. The Hill Country is a nationally recognized destination for bluebonnet season, and Boerne is one of the best towns to base yourself for scenic drives. Spring markets return to Main Plaza, and outdoor dining at The Kendall Restaurant is at its best.

Summer: Berges Fest

The town’s biggest annual weekend of German food, music, and community, Berges Fest fills Main Plaza with polka bands and long tables. Book your room early. Rooms during Berges Fest often sell out weeks in advance.

Fall

Cooler evenings, quieter weekends, and some of the best hiking of the year. Boerne’s Weinfest brings Hill Country wineries downtown for an afternoon of tasting, and the Kendall County Fair is a longstanding local favorite.

December: Weihnachtsmarkt and Dickens on Main

Boerne’s holiday season is unmatched in the Hill Country. Weihnachtsmarkt fills Main Street with lights, Christmas markets, and mulled wine each December. Dickens on Main brings Victorian charm to downtown just before the holidays, complete with carolers in costume. Come for a weekend and you will leave planning your return.
